My name is Greg; I am a naturalist guide and the founder of Karuna Nature. My mission? To open the door to the natural world for you—with discretion, respect, and expertise.

A connection between two worlds

As a naturalist guide, I lead nature enthusiasts on excursions in both France and Taiwan—two regions I know intimately and where I have forged deep connections.

My work is shaped by this dual geographical background. Between France and Taiwan, I have developed a nuanced understanding of ecosystems, nature-related cultural traditions, and the specific conservation challenges facing each region. This cross-continental experience allows me to offer complementary perspectives, enriched by the diversity of the environments I explore.

Background

Passionate about nature since childhood, I have turned the observation and understanding of the natural world into my profession. As a field ornithologist, I traverse the forests, marshes, and ponds of the Oise region and beyond, moving with the seasons and the rhythms of bird migration, song, and fascinating behavior.

My approach is grounded in three core principles: discretion, to avoid disturbing wildlife; respect, for both the animals and the natural habitats we explore; and knowledge, because understanding a species—its ecology and behavior—is the first step toward protecting it.

My vision

Introducing biodiversity to a wide audience, learning to identify species and understand their behavior and ecology, and dispelling common misconceptions—these are the convictions that drive Karuna Nature and which I consider essential for environmental protection.

Each outing is designed as an immersive experience: not merely a species count, but a true reading of the landscape, where we learn to listen to, observe, and interpret the signs of the natural world. Whether you are a curious beginner or a seasoned naturalist, I tailor the experience to your level and interests. My commitments
Small groups for a quality viewing experience and respect for wildlife
Observation equipment provided (binoculars available for rent upon request)
Accessibility: outings open to everyone; beginners welcome
Sharing knowledge: teaching methods tailored to each audience
